South Boston Bus Lane & Bus Stop Improvements Public Meeting

On May 16, drop by the open house to learn how the MBTA is making bus service faster, safer, and more accessible.

The MBTA is leading a planning process to add bus-only lanes and improve access to bus stops in City Point in South Boston. Currently, most of South Boston's bus stops are not accessible to seniors and people with disabilities due to poor sidewalk and bus stop conditions.

Are you one of the 15,000 people who ride the #5, #7, #9, #10, and #11 bus routes daily? Be sure to attend Wednesday's open house to review current proposals and advocate for Better Buses and sidewalk infrastructure.

Here are three things to advocate for during the meeting:

  • Lengthen bus stops to make it easier for buses to pull up to the curb.
  • Move P Street service to Farragut Road. Consolidating the #5, #7, #9, #10, and #11 routes along Farragut Road will allow  improve bus stop access for seniors and people with disabilities.
  • Implement bus only lanes to prioritize transit and save commuters time. Current proposals include new bus only lanes along sections of L Street and East Broadway.

Will you come?
