An important component of our work is inspiring a vision for what is possible by sharing innovative transportation ideas from around the world. Our events serve as forums for learning, times to discuss important issues, and are an opportunity to gain feedback from the public.

Over the years our events have grown from a few dozen people gathered in our office to more than 200 attendees at our 2016 10-in-1 StreetTalk. Read more about our events below.

Ideas, insight, inspiration. We all know our cities are changing fast. How are our local agencies rising to the challenge to make sure we all keep moving together? Our StreetTalk events bring together panels of local and national thought leaders to grapple with big questions related to urban planning, transportation, and more. View our upcoming and recent StreetTalks.

Getting there is half the fun! Tour de Streets is our biggest annual fundraiser, held each September. The event brings people of all ages together for a day of bike riding, walking, live music, and barbecue. Learn more about how you can participate in Tour de Streets.

Which mode will win? Rush Hour Challenge is a friendly competition that spreads awareness about different modes of transportation (e-bike, bike, car, bus, subway) and where they stack up in speed and efficiency during peak commute times in Metro Boston. The Rush Hour Challenge is a collaboration between the Somerville Bicycle Committee, LivableStreets Alliance, Boston Cyclists Union, and MassBike. LivableStreets is your community. Throughout the year we hold events for our individual and business members to gather, mingle, and get inspired by the LivableStreets community. Want to join us? Become a member today.
