The reconstruction of Melnea Cass Boulevard was initially proposed in 2011, with the intention of widening the Boulevard and adding Bus Rapid Transit lanes. This proposal was rejected by neighbors and advocacy organizations and a “Complete Streets” strategy was endorsed. This project is now funded, design is underway, and construction is anticipated in 2019.

The purpose of this Public Meeting is to get public input prior to the 25% Design Public Hearing. Friends of Melnea Cass Boulevard (FMCB) have been meeting with the City and their consultants since August on this redesign.
