Boston City Council Committee Hearing on Boston Bike Infrastructure

From James Sutherland
(BCU Facebook event)

WHEN: September 14th at 4PM
WHERE: Ianella Chambers - 5th Floor of City Hall
WHO: Advocates for improved cycling infrastructure, as well as the new Chief of Streets Chris Osgood and the new Active Transportation Director Stefanie Seskin.

Public testimony at City Council hearings is allowed and encouraged! Councilor Pressley would like to gather as much information from advocates as possible. She is particularly interested in the personal experiences of cyclists who use our city's streets. Specifically, she would like to hear from you about:

1) Are there specific locations, based on your experiences, that are more challenging to ride through, or less safe than others? Why?

2) Large trucks turning get a lot of attention, but are there other situations that the city needs to prioritize?

3) A lot of focus has been on downtown Boston due to the high density of cyclists there; however, what can the city be doing better in the neighborhoods outside of downtown?

Please let James Sutherland <[email protected]> know as soon as possible if you are able to testify at this hearing so that he can schedule you on a panel. If you are unable to attend, please do consider submitting written testimony. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
