In 2016, Governor Baker signed into law Chapter 187 of the Acts of 2016, an act regulating transportation network companies within the Commonwealth. The act relates to background checks, hours of service and insurance for drivers of services such as Uber and Left. To provide further opportunity for comment on this proposed legislation, the Department of Public Utilities will hold a public hearing. Following the public hearing, written reply comments must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
