NACTO Designing Cities Conference

Member registration for the NACTO Designing Cities Conference is now open!

For the first time since 2019 in Toronto, Designing Cities is back in person!

From September 7th - 10th, NACTO will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Designing Cities conference with a convening hosted by member cities Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville. After two years without an in-person gathering, the NACTO network is eager to come together to honor the hard work of public service through the pandemic, celebrate a decade of progress on local action for climate change and social justice, and gather inspiration from peer cities to build momentum for the work ahead.

The Designing Cities conference brings together nearly 1,000 transportation planners, engineers, policymakers, and other practitioners from cities across North America. These are the decision-makers who will shape how our streets and cities look today and tomorrow.

Registration for Designing Cities 2022 in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville is now open for member cities and transit agencies.

We wanted to share some key details with all of you about the upcoming gathering:

  1. COVID vaccination requirement: Attendees will be required to upload proof of vaccination and booster to our health and safety partner, Crowdpass, by August 15, 2022. You are not fully registered until this is complete. Additional protocols like masking will be decided closer to the event based on case rates.

  2. WalkShops and Workshops: You can visit our website to review the planned WalkShops and Workshops. We’re excited to bring you to the region to learn about some incredible local projects and engage with the host cities and their communities.

  3. Early Bird Registration for member cities is from June 1 to July 15. As the Designing Cities conference sells out every year, we are ensuring that NACTO members get priority registration for the conference, and for popular workshops and WalkShops.

  4. Standard registration opens July 15 for non-member cities, non-profits, and academic institutions.

  5. Private sector registration will be on an application-basis and is open until July 31, 2022. Applications are now open – you can apply here

Thank you to our early sponsors for helping us in building this movement. (Want to join this sponsor list? Email [email protected] for more details.)
