MassDOT is scheduling Capital Conversations, a series of public community meetings to solicit input on potential transportation projects to be included in the agency’s upcoming five-year Capital Investment Plan (CIP) for Fiscal Years 2017-2021.
The meetings will be held in various regions throughout the Commonwealth beginning on Monday, October 19th, and continuing through Thursday, November 5th, 2015.
“MassDOT is excited to host the series of Capital Conversations to engage members of the public in this critical discussion, and to learn about their specific ideas, transportation needs, priorities and concerns,” said Transportation Secretary Stephanie Pollack. “These meetings will help us to develop a comprehensive, data-driven document that strategically identifies and prioritizes transportation projects for the immediate future. We look forward to the community’s participation, as we begin to implement this streamlined, transparent CIP process whereby every suggestion, comment, or e-mail is of value and will be taken into consideration.”
The CIP will serve as a multi-modal unified plan that includes the Highway Division, the MBTA, Rail & Transit, Aeronautics Division, and the Registry of Motor Vehicles. As such, representatives from all of these respective agencies will be on hand to listen to the comments and feedback from meeting participants. In addition, beginning October 19th, MassDOT encourages those who are unable to attend the meetings in-person to join the Capital Conversation online by sharing their ideas at the user-friendly site mass.gov/massdot/capitalconversations, or e-mail comments to [email protected].
