Begun in 1969, then stopped in the last decade, a few years ago Franklin Park Coalition and Discover Roxbury brought back the annual Franklin Park Kite Festival that so many Franklin Park Coalition members remember going to as a child. Traditionally the Saturday after Mother’s Day, last year’s event drew 3,000 people to the park to fly kites and picnic.

Boston Bikes brings nearly 100 bicycles of all sizes for children and adults to “rent” for free. DotBike volunteers lead tours around the park to get people feeling comfortable on a bike.

Come celebrate our own “opening day” in Franklin Park at the Kite & Bike Festival on Saturday, May 11, 2016 (raindate is Sunday 12th). Enjoy kite fun, bike tours, food trucks, craft vendors, entertainment, and more!
