With 85 participants, over 200 individual donors, and 4 corporate sponsors, we raised $54,000! Thank you!

This year we offered three guided infrastructure tours (two bike rides and one walking tour), highlighting the importance of the advocacy work of LivableStreets.

The celebration party was full of energy! Some things we overheard:

  • One participant commented about North Bank Bridge, “I learned so much about what happens behind the scenes to make these things happen.”
  • Another commented on all the protected bike lanes, “It’s amazing how much safer I feel biking in the city today than I did just five years ago.”
  • Public transit was also a topic of conversation: “Bus lanes just make so much sense! How can we get more of them?”

We are so close to our Tour de Streets goal of $60,000. Our work is so important, so please consider making an end-of-year contribution now! We now also accept ApplePay and Venmo, so giving takes mere seconds.

THANK YOU to our sponsors!

So far this year, 273 people have been killed on Massachusetts roads, including forty pedestrians and seven cyclists– these deaths are preventable, and we will not accept any loss of life on our roads. Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition will recognize each person impacted during this year’s World Day of Remembrance for victims of traffic crashes.

LivableStreets goes to Washington, D.C.

LivableStreets joined community leaders, advocates, and policymakers from across the country to push for more equitable transportation policy and funding.

At “Day on the Hill,” Maha met with Senator Ed Markey as well as the offices of Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Ayanna Pressley to talk about why it’s so important for federal investments to reflect community needs.

Given the current political climate, it was particularly heartwarming to gather in person with so many like-minded advocates and be reminded of the importance of our work.

The event was co-hosted by the Natural Resources Defense Council, PolicyLink, Smart Growth America, and the McKnight Foundation. Many thanks to the Equitable Transportation Fund for covering our travel costs and expenses.

Fair Share transportation panel at MassBudget conference

LivableStreets moderated a panel at MassBudget’s annual conference Focus2025 on October 1 discussing the influx revenue for transportation investment funds and the future of state-wide transportation funding in the current fiscal climate.

Spaces For You- adding to Boston's open space

LivableStreets is leading workshops with residents to get feedback on the City of Boston’s Spaces for You initiative which is creating a comprehensive plan to increase urban public space, including city-owned property as well as property provided by private developers, for use by the general public. The goal is to co-create, enhance, and celebrate outdoor public spaces that foster joy, belonging, and well-being.

In October, we held workshops in collaboration with VietAid and the American Cities Coalition. We’ve heard that residents want improved safety at public spaces as well as more winter programming to creating fun, engaging activities for children and community members to enjoy together.

Help us connect people and places. Give now to support our work to improve transportation systems and unlock access and opportunity for everyone.
