Boston City Council Briefing on Green Ribbon Commission Study Tour

Boston City Council President Michelle Wu and District 1 Councilor Salvatore LaMattina will host a briefing on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 to report back on the weeklong Climate Innovations Study Tour across Northern Europe sponsored by the Boston Green Ribbon Commission last month.

Councilors Wu and LaMattina were among a group of representatives from the City of Boston, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the business, academic, and philanthropic communities invited to study European innovations combating the effects of global climate change last month. The group explored climate adaptation and mitigation best practices across leading cities in the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. In addition to Councilors Wu and LaMattina, the City of Boston was also represented by Chief of Environment, Energy, and Open Space Austin Blackmon, Environment Commissioner Carl Spector, Chief Resiliency Officer Atyia Martin, and Boston Redevelopment Authority Director of Planning Sara Myerson.

All are welcome to attend the briefing as the Boston Green Ribbon Commission and participants present their findings and potential climate change solutions for the City and Commonwealth.
