YPT Boston Distinguished Speaker: Former Mayor of Nashville Karl Dean

Join Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) Boston as we welcome Karl Dean for our spring distinguished speaker event!  Karl Dean was the Mayor of Nashville from 2007 to 2015. During his time as mayor he led an effort to build a "trackless trolley" line to connect Nashville's upcoming east and wealthier westside. The proposed trolley, or bus rapid transit line, became a contentious issue between city and state politics. Come hear him speak about his experience with the politics around BRT, public health and active transportation, and other issues relevant to the policy, planning, design, and implementation of projects.  There will be time for questions and answers following the talk.  You won't want to miss this great opportunity!

Along with YPT, this event is being co-hosted by MassAPA.

This event will be located in the West Conference Room of The Non-Profit Center, located at 89 South Street in downtown Boston.  There is a $10 fee for non-members, but the event is free for members!  A catered dinner will be provided.  Attendees will be encouraged to gather at a nearby venue afterwards (location TBD) to unwind and enjoy the company of other attendees.

If you are not sure whether your membership is active, you can login and under YPT Member/Friend Information select View Contact Record to see your status under the Membership Tab.
