Somerville’s current zoning code is outdated, difficult to navigate, and fails to adequately protect the city's neighborhoods or support community goals. The proposed overhaul incorporates 5 years of community input to update the code so it is effective, responsive, fair, user-friendly, and predictable.

At this and other open houses scheduled throughout the summer, city staff will be available to answer questions and listen to comments so they may incorporate them before submitting the new code to the Board of Aldermen.
