The Malden City Council is hosting a hearing to discuss installing bus lanes and bike lanes along Centre Street in Malden this Spring.
The proposed plan converts general travel lanes into all-day bus lanes and bike lanes in both directions along Centre St between the Malden Center T station and Franklin Street. See the design here.
The MBTA submitted a MassDOT Shared Winter Streets and Spaces (SWSS) grant to install quick-build bus and bike lanes on Centre St. If the City Council allows this project to be installed by May 31st, then the cost of this project will be covered by MassDOT, providing this benefit to Malden without using the City's limited funds.
