Downtown Boston Pedestrian Planning Tour

The Boston chapter of the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Planners (APBP) is hosting a walking tour of Downtown Boston.

Meet at the corner of Washington & Temple Place (at the wayfinding sign by Macy's, catty corner to George Howell Coffee) to take a tour with the chapter through the history of alleys and pedestrian improvements throughout Downtown Crossing. The tour will follow the route and stops mapped above. The tour will be joined by Downtown BID Public Realm Designer and Project Manager, Anita Lauricella, who will speak to some of their projects and plans. At Winthrop Square, we will be joined by Kathleen MacNeil of Millenium Partners who will talk about the pedestrian connection and urban design plans to come as part of the forthcoming 115 Winthrop development. The tour will follow those walking connections up to the new Shoppers Plaza at Washington Street and Bromfield and will end in Millenium Tower for coffee and snacks over a short presentation to further discuss 115 Winthrop Square plans.
To RSVP: please kindly email Alyson Fletcher at [email protected] or fill out this form: https://goo.gl/forms/0oi5RtJ8bHIFpryi2 – Millenium needs a headcount for snacks and their space is limited so please RSVP early!
