Keep Rozzie Moving
Better bus service is being trialled in Roslindale. From Monday, May 7th until Friday, June 21st, a dedicated bus lane will replace the parking lane on the inbound side of Washington Street from Cummins Highway to Forest Hills Station. From 5am to 9am, no cars may drive or park in this lane, allowing bus passengers—and bike riders—to enjoy a faster, lower-stress trip to Forest Hills.
This four-week pilot project is the result of a partnership between the City of Boston and the MBTA to determine the feasibility of an exclusive bus lane (for routes 30, 34, 34E, 35, 36, 37, 40, 50 and 51) on one of the MBTA's most heavily used transit corridors. And LivableStreets has helped make it happen!
Come ride the corridor to experience for yourself the benefits of dedicated bus lanes, and to see the potential for similar improvements on other congested transit corridors in greater Boston.
