Check the boxes below with how you want to help. Write preferences and relevant info (like, "I can fix a flat!" or "I love checking people in") in 'Notes'.
We've designed the shifts so that people can volunteer in multiple ways, and ride. As long as the times don't overlap, feel free to sign up for multiple.
Role Descriptions:
Marshalls: the 1st riders of each wave, down to wear bright orange and maybe even silly ears on their helmet. The marshalls are comfortable riders, a visible presence to guide riders through the route. Pairs well with a Route Marker, Set Up, or Clean Up.
Sweepers: the follow-up to the pack, makes sure nobody falls behind, and carries bike tools + cell phone for any riders who need help. If you have your own tools, and can do basic maintenance (like fixing a flat), all the better! Let me know in the Notes field. Pairs well with a Set Up, or a Registration shift.
Registration: Check people in for the event, collect money from those who aren't paid, and provide a friendly, smiling face for a beautiful morning. Pairs well with non-riders, and people who want to enjoy the BBQ and lawn games!
BBQ Set Up: Set up the lawn and help us out for the first half of the BBQ -- then enjoy the rest, with a job well done! Pairs well with riding, Registration Shift 1, and Sweepers.
Clean Up: Help break down and pack supplies after the BBQ. Pairs well with riding, Registration, and Sweepers.
Bag Stuffers & Desk Assemblers: We'll need help in the office Friday 9/11, to stuff bags for participants and assemble our office furniture. If you can wield a screwdriver or fold papers with the best of 'em, this will be your party. Great if you can't make the event but still want to help out!
