Will you join us at the Charles River Speedway on Saturday, September 21st? Participate in a walk, bike ride or just come celebrate. We will feature food from local vendors and fun activities for all ages! Here are a few ways you can support the event this year:
-
Register: walk or bike with us on one of the routes
-
Donate: help us get closer to our fundraising goal of $60,000!
-
Volunteer: and contribute to making the day fun and safe for all!
Volunteers are critical to making the event a success. We are specifically seeking support with registration, sweeping/marshaling for bike rides, bike parking and event logistics.
Thank you in advance for your support — see you there 🙂

Spreading Joy in Dorchester
|
On August 18th, LivableStreets and CultureHouse joined Fields Corner Main Streets at the organization’s block party. The party’s theme was “joy” and celebrated a new neighborhood mural. LivableStreets and CultureHouse talked about the Dorchester (DOT) Greenway and answered questions.
More than 50 people provided ideas on how they might use a greenway. Many also gave feedback on what neighborhood spaces they wished existed. Sign up here to receive updates about the project.

Thank You to our Summer Interns!
|
August has been a bittersweet month of saying goodbye and thank you to our wonderful crew of interns. They brought so much energy and talent to the office this summer! We wish them the best of luck in the upcoming academic year.
|
Angela focused on supporting our Dot Greenway engagement and developed communications content. She helped manage a mailer campaign for Dorchester Ave abbutters, put up flyers about community events, helped with website design, and directed the LSA team on best social media practices. We are deeply grateful for the work and thought she has put into the organization and we are excited to see the lasting impact her work will have!

Noah’s work this summer focused on supporting the Columbia Road Transportation Action Plan. From coordinating internal team meetings to designing social media for public events - Noah provided invaluable support for this project! His work was felt and appreciated by the LSA team and numerous partner organizations.
|
|
Zakkai heavily supported the Transit + Streets Program. During his internship, he helped organize community walks with the Columbia Road Transportation Action Plan team, worked with LSA Volunteers to research bike-sharing programs across North America, and diligently compared Fare Free Bus programs around Massachusetts over the years. His enthusiasm and hardworking spirit will be missed!
