Proposed Route 2A over Interstate 95 (Route 128) Interchange Project Public Informational Meeting

Tuesday, June 26th - 7:00pm
@ Cary Memorial Building, Estabrook Hall, 1605 Mass Ave., Lexington [map]

Hosted by MassDOT

Purpose
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Route 2A over I-95 Interchange project. All views and comments made at the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal
The proposed project consists of replacement of the existing Route 2A bridge over I-95. The project is at a conceptual stage design. To improve traffic flow and safety, it is anticipated that the layout of the interchange off/on ramps and the bridge geometry will be somewhat modified. Examples of the changes considered at this time include ramp realignments and geometry modifications, loop-ramp eliminations (at one or two locations) and possibly narrowing the bridge by reducing the width of the existing (wide) shoulders. Shared accommodations for all users will be provided in accordance with applicable guidelines.

Written views received by MassDOT subsequent to the date of this notice and up to five (5) days prior to the date of the meeting will be displayed for public viewing and copying at the time and date listed above. Plans will be on display one-half hour before the meeting begins, with an engineer in attendance to answer questions regarding this project. A project handout will be made available on the MassDOT website listed below.

Written statements and other exhibits in place of, or in addition to, oral statements made at the Meeting regarding the proposed undertaking are to be submitted to Thomas F. Broderick, P.E., Chief Engineer, MassDOT, 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116, Attention.: Project Management Section, Project File No. 603722. Such submissions will also be accepted at the meeting. Mailed statements and exhibits intended for inclusion in the public meeting formal records and/or transcript must be postmarked within ten (10) business days of this Public Informational Meeting. Project inquiries may be emailed.
