Bikes Not Bombs invites you to the 3rd Annual Green Roots Festival

Sunday, June 6, 2010  ** POSTPONED to June 20 due to weather. See you on the 20th!

12:00 - 5:30 PM

In the park in front of Stony Brook T Station
Boylston & Lamartine Streets
Jamaica Plain, MA 02130

This will be the 3rd year of the Green Roots Festival, a giant open air celebration of sustainable urban living, and a place to share information about the challenges and important work being done on environmental issues and the broader framework of social justice.

The Green Roots Festival is free and open to the public, and will draw thousands of local people for a beautiful, informative, and meaningful day in the park. The festival will also be the finish line and party for four to five hundred activist cyclists who are starting their day on the Bike-A-Thon with Bikes Not Bombs. The event will be publicized broadly, online and in print, including 16,000 full-color inserts to the Jamaica Plain Gazette and over 50,000 inserts in a range of local community newspapers from Cambridge to Hyde Park.

This celebration will include:

* Information tables by organizations and businesses
* Vendors (arts, crafts, books, etc)
* Food by local restaurants, on Boylston Street closed to traffic
* Music from Brazilian samba drummers, a Caribbean steel pan orchestra, and more!
* Kids' fun, art, pageantry, celebration!
