The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will hold a public meeting on October 25th to discuss a proposal for a new playground area on the Charles River Esplanade near DCR’s Hatch Shell.

The proposal comes from a coalition of Boston families, who are reaching out to other groups and stakeholders in the city and have agreed to provide all the necessary funding for the design and construction of the play space. The project, including utility work, landscaping, and playground elements, is expected to cost about $1.2 million. DCR will be soliciting public comment on the location and design of the play space.
