** This walk will go forward as scheduled. It looks like the rain will have stopped by 6pm! **
The Advocacy Committee meets monthly to discuss the current work of LivableStreets and provide peer-to-peer support on projects that are being led by committee members. This month, the Advocacy Committee is going on field trip!
We'll be gathering at the bus stop on the corner of Broadway and Thorndike Street in Everett at 6:15pm. We'll depart promptly at 6:30pm for a 1.5 mile walk down Broadway and then heading west to Night Shift Brewery where we'll debrief on the walk, eat/drink, and hang out. While walking, we'll hear from City of Everett Transportation Planner Jay Monty and LivableStreets staff about a range of projects within Everett and connecting to Chelsea and Somerville, including: Wynn Casino, Beacham Street cycle track, Silver Line Extension, Revere Beach Parkway, the bus-only lane and platform-level boarding on Broadway, and the Northern Strand Trail.
If folks can't make it for the walk, they can meet up with the group at Night Shift around 7:30pm where there will be food and drink available for purchase.
If you are new and interested in the committee, come to the Broadway/Thorndike bus stop from 6:15-6:30pm to learn more about the committee before we depart on the walk!
