MPO Meeting - Draft Amendment Two to FFYs 2012-2015 TIP

The MPO has released a Draft Amendment of the FFY 2012 element of the current FFYs 2012-15 TIP for public review and comment. The 30-day public comment period will run through Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Comments may be submitted to David Mohler, MPO Chair, at any of the addresses listed in the public notice below and attached. Thank you.

Public Notice

The Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is circulating for public review and comment a proposed Draft Amendment Two to the FFYs 2012–2015 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP is an annually updated document that lists the highway and transit projects that will receive funding during a four-year period. This Draft Amendment Two will accommodate cost changes and schedule revisions for several projects in both the highway and transit elements.

The 30-day public comment period for Draft Amendment Two to the TIP will begin on Monday, June 25, 2012, and end at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 24. The MPO is planning to take action on Draft Amendment Two at its meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 2, 2012.

The meeting will begin at 10:00 AM in conference rooms 2 and 3 of the State Transportation Building, 10 Park Plaza, in Boston. Members of the public are invited to attend. Comments on Draft Amendment Two will be accepted in writing at the addresses below before the close of the public comment period and at the meeting.

The MBTA, which is the FTA Section 5307(c) applicant, has consulted with the MPO and concurs that the public involvement process adopted by the MPO for the development of the TIP satisfies the public hearing requirements that pertain to the development of the Program of Projects for regular Section 5307, Urbanized Area Formula Program, grant applications, including the provision for public notice and the time established for public review and comment.
