Whether you attended, donated, or cheered us on from afar, your support helped to make Tour de Streets 2022 a great success!

On September 10th, we welcomed over 150 participants, raising over $50,000 towards our $60,000 goal! We are so incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support for our first in-person Tour de Streets in two years, as we came together again to honor the life of Bob Zeeb. This year, we were excited to celebrate at a new location, The Charles River Speedway in Brighton, surrounded by members of the LivableStreets community, staff, board members, volunteers, partners, and friends — we’re so appreciative of everyone who helped make this event possible and showed up to celebrate and promote walkability and the joys of biking in the city. Here are some highlights of the day:

Walk: Abby Jamiel, Director of the Emerald Network, led 22 walkers along the Charles River via the Dr. Paul Dudley White path. Abby provided fun facts along the route — it was a beautiful day for folks to explore this local gem along the Charles!
Family ride: This year’s family ride, led by Eric Herot, was a success: this was his first year leading the ride and it was a calm and fun biking experience for all! Our ride marshals did a great job and folks returned from the three-mile ride with a smile on their face.
Urban ride: Peter Cheung returned once again to lead the urban ride! He found a great route along the Charles River, connecting to the Watertown-Cambridge Greenway and circling around Fresh Pond before returning to the Speedway. We had 58 participants in the urban ride and everyone was happy with Peter’s leading skills and once again, our ride marshals.
Celebration: We were honored to be joined by Boston City Councilor At-Large Julia Mejia + Representative Steve Owens, as well as our partners from Bikes not Bombs, who had their annual Bike-A-Thon the next day! Plenty of folks enjoyed temporary tattoos, bubbles, and LivableStreets swag. We were so happy to see so many folks wearing orange and connecting with each other! With drinks and sake popsicles provided by the Koji Club, food from Jamaica Mi Hungry, ice cream galore from Fomu + the Tipping Cow – it was a great sight to see everyone engaging with each other and celebrating our work together.
