Julia Wallerce, Board Chair

A native of Northern California, Julia lives in Winthrop with her husband and daughter Maya. Julia joined the LivableStreets Board in 2011 so she could start more conversations using her favorite urban planning jargon like ‘spatial justice’ and ‘democratizing the streetscape.’ Julia led the family bike ride for LivableStreets largest annual fundraiser, Tour de Streets in 2017, and plays an integral role on the Fundraising Committee. She is most excited to cultivate new donor relationships and diversify funding for LivableStreets' Emerald Network initiative. Julia is currently the Boston Program Manager for the Institute for Transportation & Development Policy, helping to lead efforts to pilot Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in the Boston region and is the Chair of the Winthrop Transportation Advisory Committee. She previously served as Executive Director of MassCommute. In her free time, Julia enjoys biking, following local politics, and exploring nature with children.

Julia says: I've seen how a community can come together to create the change they want to see.
