Neponset River Greenway

The DCR will present their updated plans for the completion of the Neponset River Greenway. They have aggregated the different sections of the project, and will apply for construction funding via a "Tiger 3" grant, which would include Federal and state funds.

The trail segments will include:

  • Dorchester Coast Greenway from Port Norfolk past the National Grid gas tank property (Dorchester)
  • Central Avenue to Blue Hill Avenue (Milton and Mattapan)
  • Martini Shell / Stop & Shop to the Neponset Valley Parkway (Hyde Park and Milton)

The new trail alignment is not public yet; everyone will learn about it at the same time at the public meeting.

The DCR project manager cannot reveal details of the proposed path before the public meeting, but she has stated that the DCR has made a strong effort to incorporate last year's feedback from the Capen Street and Mattapan neighborhoods. She believes that people will be satisfied with the new design.

Milton residents are encouraged to attend the presentation to learn more about the plans, and to provide additional comments.
