MassDOT Public Information Meeting - Casey Overpass Project

Thursday, March 29th - 6:00pm
@ English High School Auditorium, 144 McBride St, Jamaica Plain [map]

A Public Information Meeting will be held by MassDOT to discuss the completed Planning Study for the Replacement of Monsignor Casey Overpass project in Jamaica Plain

PURPOSE: The purpose of this meeting is to present the concept alternative selected to replace the existing Casey Overpass Structure that will be advanced into 25% design phase, and the expected plan for public involvement and development of design going forward. The selection of the preferred alternative is the culmination of an extensive planning study process conducted over the past year as a collaborative effort between MassDOT, DCR, City of Boston, MBTA and a dedicated public Working Advisory Group.

PROPOSAL: This completed project phase consisted of planning and study to determine a preferred alternative for replacement of the existing overpass structure to manage and balance multi-modal mobility and diverse livability needs of the area. The planning study phase consisted of extensive and inclusive public outreach and input, and encompassed at-grade and structural solutions. The recommended alternative will be advanced into design phase for eventual construction within the schedule of the Commonwealth’s Accelerated Bridge Program.
