Web Development Internship

LivableStreets seeks a highly motivated Web Development Intern to help advance our digital footprint and online communications.

Who we are and what we do

For more than a decade, LivableStreets has been transforming Metro Boston’s streets by advocating for innovative and equitable transportation solutions that are safe, affordable and enjoyable making our community more connected and more livable for everyone.

What the Web Development Intern will do

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Content & Publications Manager to assist in developing and updating website content (copywriting, proofreading, layout, media)

  • Assist in improving overall user experience of website, including optimizing pages for mobile

  • Assist in implementing use of google analytics to capture website metrics

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with email campaign management

  • Assist with the preparation of publications and/or outreach materials

  • Perform administrative assignments in support of other communications

  • Provide event support

What we're looking for

  • Experience with digital communications and front-end web development

  • Comfort and proficiency with email systems and using user-friendly software

  • Organized, detail-oriented, dependable, excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to multi-task and work independently

Other desirable skills include:

  • Experience with NationBuilder or other CMS/website platforms

  • Skills in social media and Photoshop

  • Experience with HTML, google analytics, Search Engine Optimization

Deliverables, commitment & compensation

  • The Content & Publications Manager will work with the Web Development Intern to develop a workplan that meets the needs and goals of both parties in the agreed upon timeline. The Content & Publications Manager will provide intern with the opportunity to build their portfolio with specific projects and experience working in the non profit sector.

  • Candidate should be be able to make a  15-20 hour/week commitment between September and December 2017.

  • The Web Development Intern is eligible for a stipend and travel reimbursement
