TOM IS HELPING CREATE HAPPY PEOPLE AND LIVABLE STREETS AROUND BOSTON AND BEYOND

Dear friends, family members, and loved ones,

Thank you for coming to this site. I rarely participate in fundraisers but this one is near and dear to my heart.

I've known about LSA since they first formed a decade ago. As expressed on the LSA website, the Livable Streets Alliance (LSA) believes that to remain a competitive, world-class city, Boston needs a world-class transportation network — one that makes our city a better place to live, work, and play. I couldn't agree more. That's why I am doing this fund raiser to support the activities of LSA. They have spent the last decade being integral to building sustainable transportation and livable communities in and around the Boston region. They campaign, organize, plan, design, and rabble-rouse for better walking, driving, public transport, and my daily commute mode: biking. Whether it's better sidewalks or MBTA service, LSA promotes it. I, personally, have been involved in several projects, most recently the campaign to tear down the McGrath Highway and replace it with something more human-scaled.

I'm still young(ish) and healthy. But the day will come when my physical abilities will diminish. Transportation will become a challenge. The same for you. As a society, we are witnessing an unprecedented growth in our aging population. That's why we need to help an organization like LSA that supports ways for everyone, young and old alike, to get around town, whether it's by bus, bike, foot, train, or automobile. Our mobility is tied to everything: our health, our social life, and our levels of happiness. And don't we all want to be happy for as long as possible?

That's why I'll be joining LSA for this bike/walk fundraiser on Saturday Sept 12th, with details at this website. Anyway, could you please consider supporting me and donating for this one time event? One million, two million ... no donation amount is too small ... at the very least send me some good vibes for my big day. Thank you in advance. Now click on that button!  :-)

Cheers,

Tom
