Somerville Avenue in (you guessed it) Somerville, is up for reconstruction by Mass Highway, commencing sometime this spring. It is at 100% design, and the countract is out to bid. LivableStreets Alliance attended a public hearing in August 30, 2005 (for some reason, the transcript is not yet available), and made several suggestions as to how to improve the project for better access for pedestrians, persons with disabilities, and bicyclists. Click here for the August 30, 2005 public hearing announcement. Click here for the LivableStreets handout summarizing key issues.
