MBTA Bus Route Changes Proposed, Public Hearings: Boston
MBTA 2008 Service Plan
Every two years the MBTA Service Planning Department reviews the level of usage of bus services and reallocates services based on consumer demand. Service standards as defined in the MBTA?s Service Delivery Policy are used to evaluate route performance. These standards measure ridership, loading, reliability, and other factors.
The MBTA held a number of community workshops throughout the Greater Boston area in May and June 2007 to receive suggestions from the public for the 2008 Service Plan. The MBTA will now hold community workshops to present the Preliminary 2008 Service Plan and solicit feedback from the public regarding service changes that are proposed in the Plan.
Written feedback will be accepted through September 30, 2008 and may be sent by:
* Email to serviceplan08@mbta.com; or
* Mail to MBTA Service Planning Unit, 45 High Street, Boston, MA 02110.
Comments from the public will be considered equally whether they are received in writing or during the community workshops.
Community workshops and a public hearing will be held during the month of September 2008 as detailed below. Workshops will consist of a brief presentation by MBTA staff followed by an informal discussion between MBTA staff and the public soliciting ideas for route modifications.
