DCR SCHEDULES PUBLIC MEETING ON NEW
"GATEWAY TO THE ARBORWAY" PLANNING INITIATIVE
WHAT: The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will hold a
public meeting to discuss the new "Gateway to the Arborway" planning
initiative. The plan, developed by DCR in partnership with the Arborway
Coalition, addresses improvements for the portion of the Arborway
between Murray Circle and the William J. Casey Overpass and includes
alternatives for managing the vegetation on the "Arborway Hillside"
(between Jamaica Place and Hampstead Road), improving pedestrian and
bicycle access from the Casey Overpass to the Arborway, and removing the
fencing at the Arboretum crosswalk. The public is encouraged to attend.
